The Music House Presents A Laurel and Hardy Silent Movie "Fun Fest" Accompanied by Dave Calendine @ The Music House Museum

The Music House Museum is proud to present a classic Laurel and Hardy Silent Film “Fun Fest” at both 5:30PM and 7:00PM on Saturday, July 27. We welcome back one of our longest partners, Organist, Dave Calendine to accompany three classic Laurel and Hardy shorts: First, “Putting Pants on Phillip”, Made in 1927, this is their first “official” film together as a team. The plot involves Laurel as Philip, a young Scot newly arrived in the United States, in full kilted splendor, suffering mishaps involving the kilt. His uncle, played by Hardy, is shown trying to put trousers on him. Second, “The Battle of The Century” The film is famous for using over 3,000 cream pies in the film’s climactic pie fight. Third, “Liberty”, a 1929 short comedy film starring Laurel and Hardy as escaped convicts who, while trying to change pants, wind up on a skyscraper in construction.

These are perfect films for the entire family! Experience this classic with the live accompaniment of Dave Calendine on our “Cinderella” Wurlitzer Theatre Organ. Calendine is an amazingly talented organist and pianist and a great entertainer. A resident of the Detroit area, Dave is one of the two organists for The Detroit Red Wings, is the staff organist at The Fox Theater, has accompanied the Rockettes in both Detroit and New York, performs at The Redford Theater and at his church as, well as concerts at the Sanfillipo Foundation in Illinois, and at the national Music Box Society International conventions.
