The Music House Museum Presents “It’s De-Lovely!” An Evening of Cole Porter and Friends featuring Edye Evans Hyde, Vocalist, Terry Lower, Piano, and Barry Ross, Violin

Dr. Barry Ross is the former Assistant Conductor of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra and Professor of Music Emeritus at Kalamazoo College, where he founded the Kalamazoo College and Community Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra, now the Kalamazoo Philharmonia. For 32 years Barry performed as Concertmaster and Assistant Conductor of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. During his almost 50 years in Michigan he has appeared as conductor, concertmaster and concert violinist throughout the country.

Singer and Actress Edye Evans Hyde has been performing for over 30 years in West Michigan, Los Angeles, Asia, and Europe. Edye has shared the stage with world renowned blues singer Linda Hopkins, Michael Bolton, actress Connie Stevens, Cuban trumpet player, Arturo Sandoval, Peter Scolari, and Tom Wopat, and the late Ray Charles. She has appeared with The Grand Rapids Symphony, The West Shore Symphony and many theatrical stages across West Michigan. You can hear her on her most recent recording, Magic in His Eyes.

After studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Terry Lower returned to Michigan, and for over 35 years has been active on the Jazz scene both here and abroad. He has performed/recorded with many Jazz icons, several symphony orchestras, at numerous jazz festivals, on cruise ships, and played 2 Jazz tours in Italy. Also a prolific writer, Terry has penned compositions and arrangements which have been performed/recorded by small jazz ensembles, swing big bands and full symphony orchestras. In 2016, Terry was named Musician Of The Year by the West Michigan Jazz Society. His latest CD ‘Sleigh Ride’ was released in July, 2019.
