
The Music House presents a Post-Thanksgiving Pizza and Pipes, a delicious gourmet pizza dinner and a very special concert from Red Wings organist, Dave Calendine, on the ‘Mighty Wurlitzer’ theater organ. Enjoy a great dinner with great music. Doors open at 6 PM for dinner, with the concert around 6:30 pm. This is a very popular event so reservations are highly recommended. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under. Dave Calendine is an amazingly talented organist and pianist and a great entertainer. A resident of the Detroit area, Dave is one of two organists for The Detroit Red Wings, is the staff organist at The Fox Theater, has accompanied the Rockettes in both Detroit and New York, performs at The Redford Theater and at his church as, well as concerts at the Sanfilippo Foundation in Illinois, and at the national Music Box Society International conventions. Calendine is also the past President of the American Theatre Organ Society (ATOS).

The Music House Museum is proud to present this very special flute recital by the students of Nancy Stagnitta from the Interlochen Arts Academy Flute Studio on Sunday December 3 at 2:00PM, with accompaniment by Interlochen pianist Hyemin Kim
The Interlochen Arts Academy Flute Studio is proud to present a varied program of solo, chamber music, and flute choir works, including representations of nature, traditional French percussion, an operatic favorite, and the tragedy of losing one’s home. They will also be joined by their instructor, Nancy Stagnitta, for a rendition of the 1975 hit, “Feelings,” beautifully arranged for piccolo and flute choir. They will be accompanied by Interlochen pianist Hyemin Kim. Music by Poulenc, Gossec, Clarke, Delibes, Loggins-Hull, Doppler, Donjon and more.

The Music House Museum is proud to welcome Patrick Owen and Hyemin Kim in concert
Saturday December 9 at 7:00PM, presenting standard classical repertoire for Cello and Piano by Ludwig van Beethoven, Leoš Janáček and Sergei Prokofiev.
Hyemin Kim serves as a Collaborative Pianist and teaches a secondary piano class at Interlochen Arts Academy. She made her debuts across the U.S. and Europe in major concert venues including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, and Mozart Hall at Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna. She won at the Vienna International Piano Competition where she received a Schubert Special Award.
Patrick Owen was appointed instructor of Cello at the Interlochen Arts Academy in 2019. He remains in demand as a recitalist, chamber musician, and orchestra player. From 2016-2018, Owen was a member of the Portland String Quartet, becoming the quartet’s second cellist in its 47-year history.

The Music House welcomes David and Kaysen Chown Live in Concert at 7:00 PM, 12/30/2023
David and Kaysen Chown join forces for a special concert to benefit the Music House Museum. The two will be performing an evening of Holiday and Jazz Classics on Violin and Piano. Kaysen is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan, where she majored in Performance Arts Technology. While at U of M, she was member of the Creative Arts Ensemble, and the U of M Campus orchestra. Based out of Detroit now, she performs regularly with the folk/rock ensemble Kingfisher, which has one album out, and another coming in the Spring. They played recently at the Music House to rave reviews. David is a well-known Traverse area pianist who owns and operates Lookout Music Productions, is co-owner of MusicHub.Live, and teaches audio technology at Northwestern Michigan College. He has released 5 albums of piano music, and 3 albums with Miriam Pico, and is a regular performer and supporter of the Music House Museum.
